What We Do

Cathartika was created by Duane Cook as a platform for musical expression—a playground where reality intertwines with imagination and mixed ideologies are explored. It’s a journey of chasing a dream and telling the tale through the three main branches of art: Visual, Performing, and Literary.
Performing Arts
Performing arts encompass art forms that involve live performances, such as theater, dance, music, opera, and mime. These experiences are temporal—unfolding over time—and require the audience's continuous attention. They are immersive and multi-sensory, often engaging sight, sound, and movement in the moment. Examples include acting, singing, dancing, musical performances, theatrical productions, and storytelling.
Literary Arts
Literary arts focus on the written word, including poetry, prose, and drama. These works emphasize language to convey meaning, evoke emotion, and tell powerful stories. They allow for individual interpretation, inviting readers to engage at their own pace. Examples include novels, poems, plays, essays, and various forms of written expression.
Visual Arts
Visual arts encompass art forms that produce static, visual representations—creations that can be seen and interpreted over time. These works are often tangible, using mediums such as paint, clay, or fabric, and are open to the viewer's personal interpretation. Examples include paintings, sculptures, photography, graphic design, and architecture.
Based in Cortez, Colorado, in the heart of the Four Corners region of the American Southwest, Cathartika continues to push creative boundaries while bringing electrifying rock 'n' roll performances to life.
